Description
This Scorpion is a REAL TANK and the first of the Combat, Vehicle, Recon, (Tracked) family produced in the UK by Alvis. These light tanks served as the eyes and ears of NATO forces in Europe during the Cold War. On their own, they served as the main armor during the 1982 Falklands War, and again during the first Gulf War.
Many other countries use Scorpions, even today, such as New Zealand, Spain, Ireland, Honduras, Malaysia, Belgium, and Jordan. Powered by a 6-cylinder 4.2L Jaguar Gas Engine, an automatic clutch and 7-speed gearbox provides great performance in a compact tracked vehicle. CVR(T)'s are the most fun of all tracked vehicles to drive with their quickness and control.
They are easy to maintain, too, with great manuals which are included, and all parts are available! This Scorpion is a very complete and a very good running example. It includes many very hard to get parts such as the real 76mm Main Gun Barrel,( GUN has been LEGALLY DEMILLED) and elevation tracking device. It is complete with all the latest external storage boxes, Clansman Intercom system with tanker helmets, all Scopes, NBC system, spare road wheels, filters, and manuals.
The brakes, track, road wheels, sprockets, etc. are all in top notch condition. Recent exterior British military paint, original condition interior, this tank is very complete and a great value. Tank has Bill of Sale. Some states do permit the licensing of tracked vehicles for road use. Check your state. Tracks are Rubber Padded.
Easily transported, stored, and maintained, and loads of fun to drive and own, these are the best value in tracked armor. The Scorpion is the best all around value in a real tank. 14,000lbs. 16'x7.5'x7.5'
In regards to investing in Armor, with the drop in the US Dollar, the increase in shipping costs, and the growing collector demand in the UK, these vehicles continue to appreciate.
Additionally, for those who want to own a REAL Tank, there are few choices on the U.S. market, and all are much more. The current value of a nice WWII Stuart is $120,000+, a Sherman, $200,000+ and rising. A British Chieftain is TOO big, TOO heavy, and far TOO complex to maintain.
This Scorpion fits nicely into a one car garage, and at 14,000lbs, can be hauled on a backhoe trailer. It has room for three people; Driver, Commander, and Gunner. Call (386) 290-6001 for more information

Does the Scorpion have a 50 cal mount? Where do you order replacement tracks and how much are they? Great looking piece, do you have a ferret or any other units to sell? Thanks.
